JBL On Stage 200ID High-Performance Speaker Dock for iPhone 4/4S and iPod (Black) Overview

The JBL On Stage 200ID loudspeaker dock is a complete sound system for iPod and iPhone--one that will become the new focal point of your personal entertainment space. Imagine a total audio system in one place, with no extra wires running across your table or desk. Connected to your new-generation iPod or iPhone, MP3 player, or other music source, the JBL On Stage 200ID system produces clean, powerful sound, letting you take complete control of your music.

A total audio system in one place, with no extra wires running across your table or desk.

Combines many proprietary technologies for the highest-quality sound, offering astonishing bass and clear sound from any direction.

Compatible with dockable versions of the iPod, including the iPod touch, iPhone, iPod classic 6G, and iPod nano 3G.

Which Dock Is for You?
JBL has been in the iPod dock business for a while, so it's no surprise that the company has crafted enough models to keep up with an ever-increasing army of iPod owners. Which one is right for you? Well, that depends on what kind of pod person you are:

For the Power Hungry
For those who seek more volume, the On Stage 400ID should be your first stop. At 2x15 watts, it's the loudest and largest of the bunch, and features an Atlas woofer for added bass. But size isn't everything--the On Stage Micro boasts the same wattage rating without the woofer.

For the Weekend Warriors
Those who need a dock that they can take anywhere should investigate docks that can be powered by batteries. The On Stage Micro runs on four AAAs, whereas the On Stage IIIP and On Stage III run on six. Take your music to the beach, on camping trips, and wherever you can't bear to be without it.

For the iPhone Techies
The iPhone owner has a couple choices--if you can stand to put the thing down. The On Stage IIIP provides a smaller and more portable option, or the On Stage 200ID gives a bit more power. These two docks support all docking iPod models as well.

For the Featurephiles or Heavy Sleepers
Some of us just aren't content with basic functionality; we need more buttons and more lights. Others just need a little nudge to wake up in the morning. If this is you, then the On Time 200ID and 400IHD are for you. Both feature an alarm clock and AM/FM radio, with the ability to wake up to your favorite song stored on your iPod (and then reject it with the snooze button). Of course, for the masochists, a classic buzzer is also available. The On Time 400IHD adds a dual alarm clock and HD radio to the mix, for a crystal-clear signal and a variety of text-based information (artist name, song title, weather alerts, school closings, etc.) scrolled across your screen.

Something for Everyone
All of these models feature a remote control for full iPod navigation, Evercharge topology to charge your iPod even when it's not connected to a PC or the system is turned off, a mini-jack for auxiliary devices, and the sleek design and solid performance you'd expect from JBL.

Compatibility
The JBL On Stage 200ID loudspeaker system is compatible with docking versions of the iPod, including the iPod touch, iPod nano 3G, and the iPhone. A stereo mini jack connection also allows you to enjoy high-quality audio from a variety of other devices such as MP3 and CD players, desktop computers (all platforms), satellite radios, and laptops. Specific dockable iPod compatibility: iPod mini 1G; iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G; iPod 3G, 4G, 5G, 5.5G, 6G; iPod touch; iPhone.

Easy-to-Use Music and Navigation Controls
Just a touch of the music controls increases or decreases the volume. Using the navigation controls, browse songs, playlists, and photos; change tracks and settings; and more. With the JBL On Stage 200ID remote, you have complete control of your iPod, as if it were in your hand.

Connection Versatility
The JBL On Stage 200ID system is a multimedia focal point. Enjoy your iPod, view photos or videos, and listen to virtually any other auxiliary audio component, all through the JBL On Stage 200ID loudspeaker dock.

Digital Power and DSP
The system features a powerfully tuned digital audio path. The clean and compact digital amplification, coupled with DSP (digital signal processing) equalization, efficiently provides the transducers with cool-running power.

Additional Features

  • Smart remote--The Smart remote has several modes of operation. The Music mode allows you to control the volume, change tracks, fast forward, and fast reverse. The Navigation mode allows you to navigate menus for your iPod, just as if you were controlling the iPod itself. You can access your music, view your slideshows, and find and play your videos.
  • Evercharge topology--The JBL On Stage 200ID system charges your iPod or iPhone, even when it's not connected to a computer or if the system is off.

Advanced Technology
The JBL On Stage 200ID loudspeaker dock combines many proprietary technologies for the highest-quality sound, offering astonishing bass and clear audio from any direction.

  • Phoenix transducers--The Phoenix drivers provide accurate high frequencies and are also capable of low-frequency extension to bring you clean, powerful bass.
  • Slipstream port design--The JBL On Stage 200ID port minimizes boundary layer separation, resulting in high-output bass with low distortion.
  • COE (computer-optimized equalization)--The JBL On Stage 200ID system equalization is computer-optimized, for a rich, complete soundstage.
  • OCT (optimized compression topology)--The proprietary compression technology ensures clean, accurate sound at high output levels.

What's in the Box
JBL On Stage 200ID, iPod/iPhone adapters, IR remote, power supply, and audio cable.

Oregon Coast Weather Station

Oregon Coast Weather Station

Oregon Scientific BAR208HGA Advanced Weather Station with Atomic Time

I've had this unit since mid-2007, so about 3-4 years. The original sensor that came with the unit was left at an old apartment, I bought a replacement which I again left at an apartment... recently I bought 2 new sensors which led me to leave a review.

I have the main unit in my bedroom on the nightstand (2nd floor of house), one outdoor sensor mounted to the rail of our deck outside, and one outdoor sensor in the basement. The basement sensor is about as far from the main unit as possible, opposite end and corner of the house and down 2 floors... there is apparently no problem with receiving the signal, I use it to keep an eye on the temp (but mostly humidity) in our basement as I'm running a dehumidifier and trying to keep the humidity low to discourage creepy crawlies from maintaining residence.

Good--
- Seems to work well enough
- Good sized display
- Easy on the eyes when you hit the "LIGHT" button at night to see the time or temps (i.e. not too bright!)
- Can read up to 3 remote sensors
- Dead simple setup of the unit and the remote sensors

Bad--
- Ice Alert is ridiculously bright, I opened the unit and broke the bulb, seriously, ice is below 32*, done, I don't need a lighthouse beacon shining in my eyes
- It is a bit hard to read w/o the backlight on, this gets compounded as the batteries weaken

Misc--
- Someone said that their outdoor sensors failed when wet? My solution was to put electrical tape all around the seam of the outdoor sensor, it lasted for 2 years directly in the elements
- It needs (3) AA batteries for the main unit and (2) AAA batteries for the remote sensors

If you want something to show you the temp/humidity, this is perfect, buy it and don't give it a second thought.

Cruising Weather Knowledge - Barometric Pressure Explained

Cruising Weather Knowledge - Barometric Pressure Explained

All cruising sailors know the significance of a good weather forecast. Whether a weekend lake sailor or a blue water tube maker, knowing what kind of weather is in store is vital to a safe and more tolerable trip on the water. Paying attention to atmospheric pressure is one way of helping make decisions like when to reef or not going out at all.

Air authentically has a weight factor. And because of this weight and gravity, a downward pressure is formed and measured as atmospheric pressure or barometric pressure and measured in terms of millibars (mb). authentically every person has seen this determination on their local news station weathercast and is ordinarily given more attention to in measuring and predicting hurricanes. The lower the pressure, the stronger the hurricane. We all touch atmospheric pressure Whether we consideration it or not. You'll hear some folks talk about an old injury or their arthritis flaring up when the weather changes. This is ordinarily due to a convert in atmospheric pressure ahead of deteriorating weather. The average sea level pressure is almost 1013mb.

But separate climatic characteristic air will have a separate pressure. Heat rises because hotter air is lighter than colder air and the ensue is low pressure. A high barometric pressure reading means that cold air has sunk. A rising high pressure is ordinarily an indication of good weather ahead. A falling barometer means get ready for bad weather.

You can see how leading having a barometer on board a cruising yacht is. Learning changes in the pressure along with any weather forecast you can acquire is crucial to preparing the boat for the impending storm. Along with all the other requisite gear like Gps and radar, invest in a good barometer. You'll agree that it's a must-have on all blue water yachts and not a bad expanding to even your lake sailor.

An Obstacle policy for a Child corporeal action

An Obstacle policy for a Child corporeal action

ItemTitle

Setting up an obstacle course is a spectacular, child corporeal activity. Children get lots of exercise while having fun. An obstacle course can be set up with items you may already have. normally an obstacle course is set up outdoors, but can be a spectacular, indoor activity when the weather is bad.

To set up an obstacle course, think of terms such as jump, hop, crawl under, climb over, walk along, go right or go left. A child corporeal activity includes practicing gross motor skills, equilibrium and coordination. Plan out the course by listing the skills you want the children to practice. Eight to ten stations is a good amount for school age children.

Use a ladder flat on the ground to run through Crawl under a table or broom hung between 2 chairs Hop straight through hula hoops set on the ground Step over an obstacle such as yardstick between 2 chairs at knee height Walk across equilibrium beam (4"x4" board) Weave in and out of poles made with Pvc pipe inserted in sand buckets Squeeze straight through 2 objects placed close so child walks sideways Throw ball into wastebasket Carry an object on a spoon (water balloon outdoors, small ball indoors) Jump or skip 5 times with jump rope Bounce or dribble ball to next station (at least 5 times)

You can adjust this child corporeal activity to fit the ages, abilities and amount of children in your group. Make the obstacle course straightforward at first and slowly growth the mystery of each station.

If you want, time the kids to see how fast they can faultless the course. narrative their personel times and see if they can convention to heighten their own times. Make certificates of accomplishment and completion of this child corporeal activity; the obstacle course.

How Would You Like to Run a Fun, sufficient Youth Baseball Practice?

How Would You Like to Run a Fun, sufficient Youth Baseball Practice?

ItemTitle

Practices in any sport can be boring and unproductive if not planned out ahead of time. Having a clip board with your practice itinerary written out is just a good solid idea. You can keep track of your time slots for obvious drills, and retention these on file, you will know what you have covered.

Keep your practices to 90 minutes when possible. I realize that early pre season practices will likely go over due to weather wiping out some primary time early on.

Break up the practices with a merge of water breaks, so that you add some study as a group.Water breaks are not free-for-alls, they are for listening. Go over what you have been doing so far,and what you going to do next.

Keep practice animated Along!

Practices can be broken up into separate stations.A station is a group of players and 1 or 2 coaches. The term station refers to anyone skill is being worked on at that "station".

Typically you will divide your players and coaches up to best suit the drills you are doing. For example, take 3 catchers and run a blocking drill for 15 minutes. Then take your catchers to home plate and along with 3 middle infielders, conduct a throwing and tagging station. You can also work on back ups at 2nd base, along with pitch out drills for catchers . Get Parents Involved!

Obviously you will need help to run these stations. That is why in the parental letter at tryouts or sign ups, you must be clear in asking for help. The parents or relatives do not have to have coaching experience, although it is helpful.

This one good way to get parents to see how much work you put in to the team. Please make it clear who your assistant coaches are right away. Name them in your letter if possible.Just because person helps with practice doesn't mean they are now on the staff.

I know some of this seems obvious, but believe me,it must be spelled out to avoid confusion. You will be training the parents as well on how to help with the drills, and they just might work with the player at home also.

A Good practice Should Seem To Be Over Quick!

My bad dream practice scenario is this.A coach is trying to throw batting practice to 1 batter at a time. The coach can't get it over the plate. There is no on deck batter to quickly help pick up balls at the backstop. The rest of the players and coaches are standing in the field looking very bored.

This is a very tasteless practice, and 1 intuit that kids don't like baseball practice. It's too boring. Well I'm here to help you take payment of your team with an energizing practice.

Use your creativity and come up with some separate stations.Or just use some old stand byes. Hitting stations, throwing stations, catching stations, fielding stations,or pitching stations.

Rotate your coaches and volunteers to separate stations each practice to give them other station to learn. Keep track of which person worked what station so you can them perceive at all of stations.

Keep Them Moving!

Hitting Station

What is stressed at each hitting station is a good balanced stance, beginning the swing with your lowest hand, along with a strong hip rotation, and balanced high finish or corollary through.

We like to use a drill called the Towel Drill. It is naturally placing a folded towel under the back elbow of each hitter. Each hitter then gets some balls soft tossed to them one at a time. Each hitter is then trained to rotate the torso to hit the ball without the towel falling out from under their elbow. They quickly catch on after a merge practices. This is a good drill and inexpensive.

Another drill is balanced beam drill.Using a 60 inch 4x4 flat on the ground, have the players hit a ball off of a tee or soft toss to them to see either their swing is balanced. It will also show you if they are stepping out of the batters box.

I use soft toss all season long.Try a purchase a hitting net to set up wherever you go while the season.Using soft toss you can look at the player's swings to see either they are swinging correctly. All of the other hitting stations work a separate part of the swing.Soft toss is where you can see the strengthen of the stations.

Repetition, Repetition Repetition

Baseball skills are learned with repetition. We must guard against boredom however by retention station times to 15 minutes. Have players hustle from station to station. While others run the stations, the owner can go from station to station and explore players while heaping praise on them.Stop at a station and interject if needed.

Take a water break after all players have cycled through stations, and go over the fundamentals of the drills again. Also preview what they are going to do next, and praise their efforts on old drills.Have a coach of course demonstrate the drills coming and what expect.Take questions from players if needed, but don't get off topic.90 minutes goes by fast.

Be sure to praise players who are doing drills correctly for their skill level.Remember not all players have the same skill levels, but all players need consistent praise and encouragement.

90 diminutive practices do not include 15 diminutive prepractice meeting and warm up time. Please have parents bring kids 15 minutes early, or if you are of course on the ball, just agenda practice time 15 minutes earlier.

Warning :Coaches Must Be Early To Games And Practice!

Parents will not get players to games and practice early if they see coaches and owner getting there late.Set an example right away!

My son had a coach who would all the time be there when we arrived and we were normally 30 min early for practice and 1 hour early for the game.We only arrived before him twice, and that was because we left even earlier than normal. There were no issues on that team about latecomers.

Getting to games early also helps to get good dugout sides if they are not marked. You can look at field conditions while uncertain weather. You can do some work on fields if needed or permitted. If it was a difficult place to find, you can communicate that to others by phone so they aren't late.It shows other team that you mean business,it may give you a diminutive psychological edge.

Practice Example

Practice is set for 12 noon

1150 or earlier - you arrive to get make sure all is set, bases, pitching rubber, equipment, etc...

1145- players arrive hopefully, put them in parallel lines 20-35 ft. apart depending on age group. Have begin warming up using permissible mechanics. Any overthrows are to be picked and run back into the line. This prevents more overthrows from supplementary away.

12 noon Call practice to order. Go over what stations are being set up and which adults are running them.Divide players up as equally as possible, splitting up buddies, and or siblings.

If this is 1st practice using stations, please demo for kids what you want at each station.

Station 1 A drill called Fly

Players line up particular file, coach throws a football pass type throw over the shoulder of player on the run to make the catch.Run the ball back to the coach on the covering of the line so there are no collisions between players. Do this for 10 min.

Station 2 Fly ball drill with tennis balls

Using a tennis racket, hit fly balls to a particular file line of players, one at time. Players must use 2 hands with tennis balls or they will have hard time catching them. do this for 10 min.

Station 3 5gal pail drill

Set up a 5gal pail at home plate or in any place else you want.Put players in a particular file line, throw them a grounder or fly ball, using permissible throwing techniques, endeavor to throw baseball into the bucket. Put pail at least 100' away depending on age group of course. Do this for 10 min.

Station 4 Cut off man drill

Have the players rotate as cut off man, throw or hit ball past the outfielder, have them chase, then pick up ball, using good throwing form, hit the cut off man.Rotate after each throw. 10 min.

1245pm

Have a water break,go over how drills went.Kid nearby with players a diminutive and be very positive. Highlight all the good things you saw first, then maybe touch on what needs work. Above all, stay positive, and fun.

1250pm

Divide into 2 groups 1 at 3rd,another at 1st. particular file lines Have players field some grounders and pop ups, throwing to coaches or catchers 15-20ft up each baseline. 10 min.

1pm

Put players into regular positions or close to it.Bring in 2-3 players to hit. Engine or coach pitch.Give each player 7 swings, then rotate to next batter. Each player hits 2 times, then goes out and shags balls. After hitting for 2nd time, call in other player. all the time have 1-2 players ready to hit,and have every person ready to hustle in and pick up balls between hitters.

125pm

Call team together, go over things, and announce next practice or game time.Thank every person for being prompt, especially the parents.

Be Creative Be Fun Be Positive

There are many other ways to run a practice, I have given you a basic format that you can modify anyway you see fit.Just don't fall into a rut of doing the same things over and over. Collection is the spice of life and same is true for baseball.

Sometimes you will have entire practices on fielding or hitting. agenda as many practices as the team's families will tolerate before the season starts.Once the season starts, have team arrive 1 hour before game time for some hitting and fielding workouts.

Conclusion

Practice will make your team better.Well run efficient practices will do even more. When you run animated assorted workouts players will establish their skills quicker. all the time encourage working hard on their games. Most prominent is be positive, and be fun.

Environmental Abuse

ItemTitle

Abuse of our environment arises from actions that cannot be sustained by
nature. For instance, if 3 trees are felled in order to make way for a new
house, then nature has lost three trees and any offspring forever. This is not
sustainable.

If, after felling the three trees,  four new trees are planted in an
alternative location where growth and reproductive prospects are the same as in
the former location, then this is sustainable. Why four trees, you may ask?
Two reasons: 1, because not all saplings survive into maturity, 2. To compensate
for the time lag before the new trees reach the age of those that were
replaced. This is a straightforward example to expound the point. In
reality, the calculation for restocking tree plantings involves many factors and
is quite a bit more complicated!

Power Stations - a special Case

Another example: if a power station is to be environmentally friendly then it
should whether ensure that no pollutants or excess carbon dioxide is pumped into
the environment or take alternative actions that will restore the quality of the
environment. Historically we know this has not been achieved. If the cost of
making power stations environmentally sustainable was cheap then we would
have done it long ago. The fact that this is a widely known problem has led to a
major misconception across society that being environmentally friendly costs money.
This is plainly not the case. Modern power stations are ordinarily far kinder to
the environment than older ones. They still pollute the environment, but not
nearly as much as the older ones did. To translate the power station experience
to other aspects of life, and business in particular, is a mistake.

Pollution Production

Pollutants are unwanted bi-products. They have been produced and this
production has cost money. Trash that goes into land-fill is a bi-product of
goods that we want. This trash is made up primarily of packaging. Somebody went
to the issue of manufacture the packaging, using necessary vigor and probably
emitting some pollution in the process. Somebody else went to the issue of
purchasing this packaging - then, at the end of its life it is dumped. The same principle can be
applied to all pollution. It has been produced and paid for. To say, therefore, that
pollution reduction costs money is illogical.

Improving Power Stations

Let's apply this logic to power
stations: virtually all power stations colse to the world are pumping out
particles into the air as a bi-product. Older stations (especially coal-fired
ones) are pumping out relatively large particles compared to Modern stations.
These large particles are responsible for seeding rain clouds and changing
weather patterns. If all these particles, large and small, were added up and
weighed, you can imagine that they would add up to thousands of tons a day that
are being pumped upwards - and ultimately falling back down again. This is like
chartering 100's of airliners every day to take off loaded with tons of carbon
particles and then letting them free into the atmosphere. Old power stations
were built this way, when pollution and waste was not the main consideration.
Most countries colse to the world have brought in legislation to curb these
emissions, along with sulphur, mercury and other harmful substances and things
are enhancing all the time. I would say though, that in time, this would
have happened through store forces. For example, someone else bi-product of coal
fired power stations - fly ash - is now routinely made into bricks for building
construction and is also used in road construction. Modern power stations also
recycle much of the heat produced in emissions as a way to improve
efficiency.  Many also heat local homes and businesses, including the power
station itself, using this heat output. As I stated, though, power stations are
a special case, and their struggle to be environmentally friendly has led to the
mistaken reliance that environmentally friendly measures are costly.

Conservation

To recycle, and even better, to re-use is unmistakably preferable to a constant
cycle of dumping old and buying new. An even best way is summed up in an old-fashioned term:
conservation. This is not only the most environmentally sound way to proceed, it
is also the most cost effective. By turning down your thermostat a notch or two,
or by walking instead of driving occasionally; by turning off lights when you
leave an empty room: these may seems small measures to take, but if multiplied
around the world, would make a real difference to the environment. Take travel:
why do we travel so much? Can't some citizen work from home and therefore avoid
the rush hour and have a best quality of life? Can schools and homes be nearer
to each other? maybe there should be more/smaller schools and instead of less/larger? In fact, more and smaller of all may not be a bad idea when
considering travel reduction. maybe the time has come to consider a steep rise in fuel
prices?

Environmental Footprint

Most output activities, and increasingly most of our daily activities
have a so-called environmental "footprint". This footprint is a
measure of the supervene of an action on the environment. When we take out then we
should give back. Just as new trees are planted to replace those that have been
felled, so we should make amends when we pollute our environment. best still,
though, is the idea that we make no footprint in the first place. The question
is: why were the trees felled in the first place?
